Friction returns with Holding On, the incredible fourth single from his new project SYNERGY.
‘Holding On’ is a powerful drum & bass anthem for which Friction is known, underscored by a captivating vocal from rising star Sam Harper (previously collaborated with James Hype, Oliver Heldens & Armin Van Buuren). It is the fourth single from SYNERGY, Friction’s most ambitious work to date which pushes his sonic & aesthetic boundaries further than he's gone before.
As well as music Friction will be bringing SYNERGY on tour in the first quarter of 2026 with 10 headline shows across the UK, Europe & North America. This includes the biggest London headline show to date at Here @ Outernet on February 20th, as well as dates in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Bristol, Brighton, Prague & Vienna. These will be his most ambitious headline shows to date, with more to be announced!
Multi-awarding DJ/producer Friction has already reached legendary status in the dance music scene. From cutting his teeth in the UK’s underground drum & bass scene to becoming one of its most revered & respected DJs, whose CV includes residencies at the UK’s most iconic clubs and hosting the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass show for six years. Over the last decade he’s transitioned into a full-time record producer, being responsible for two celebrated studio albums and a huge catalogue of hits. He is also the founder of iconic independent labels Shogun Audio & Elevate Records, which have become powerhouses responsible for nurturing the careers of some of the scene’s biggest artists.
Since the release of his sophomore studio album ‘After Dark’ in 2022 (which has gone on to amass over 300 million online streams), Friction has been on a legendary run. Recent hit singles include BBC Radio 1 Hottest Records, ‘Never Know’ and ‘Bang Bang’, features from legendary MCs Spyda, Stylo G & Frisco and official remixes for D.O.D, In Parallel and Emily Makis & Monrroe. This is all balanced with a hectic touring schedule, with headline tours across the globe and performing at hundreds of festivals including. Glastonbury, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Parklife, Reading & Leeds, Rhythm & Vines.
